How Open Play works

Open Play sessions are scheduled blocks where a group of players rotates through matches together. You reserve a spot online, show up at the venue, and the organizer handles the matchmaking, scoring and rotations. You just play.

Find a session

Browse upcoming sessions on the Open Play page. Each card shows the date, time, court, skill level, format and how many spots are left.
- Skill levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced or All levels.
- Formats: Doubles, Singles or Mixed.
- Sessions marked DUPR rated count toward your official DUPR rating.

Open the session details

Tap any session to see the full description, organizer, court assignment, what to bring, and the registration price per player. If you want to bring friends, you can reserve multiple slots in one go.

Reserve your spot

Sign in (or create a free account), pick the number of slots, and pay online. Your spot is confirmed the moment payment goes through and you'll get a confirmation email.
- Most sessions are paid online via e-wallet, QR Ph or card.
- Some venues also allow paying in cash on arrival — that option appears on the session if it's available.

Cancellations & refunds

Open Play registrations are non-refundable at this venue once paid. Make sure the date works before you reserve.

Show up and check in

Arrive a few minutes early. The organizer marks you as active when you're ready to play. If you can't make it on time, message them — late arrivals can usually still be slotted into a later round.

Follow the live display

Most sessions have a live scoreboard up on a TV or tablet. It shows the current round, which courts are playing, who's on deck, and the live leaderboard. Listen for your name when the next round is announced.

Play the rounds

The organizer either generates matches one round at a time (skill-balanced or by request) or runs the whole session as a round-robin where everyone plays everyone. Either way, you don't have to organize anything yourself.

Wrap up

When the session ends, the organizer publishes results. You can revisit your full history any time under My Registrations.

Organizers run the on-court experience: setting up the session, accepting players, building matches, recording scores, and closing out payouts. The organizer dashboard does most of the heavy lifting — your job is mostly to confirm and announce.

Create the session

From your account, head to Organize a session. Set the title, date, court, skill level, format (doubles/singles/mixed), max players and price per player. Save as a draft and tweak before going live.

Decide on rated vs. unrated DUPR

Flip the DUPR rated toggle if you want match results pushed to DUPR after the session. Rated sessions need every player to have a DUPR-linked profile, so set expectations on the listing.

Accept registrations

Once published, the session shows up on the public Open Play page. Players reserve and pay online. You can also:
- Add a walk-in by name on the day, even if they don't have an account.
- Accept group bookings where one player reserves several slots.
- Edit guest names from the dashboard before the session starts.

Start the session

On the day, hit Start session. The dashboard switches into running mode: roster on one side, courts and rounds on the other. Mark each player Active as they arrive.

Pick your matchmaking style
- Smart suggest — generates one round at a time, balancing skill ratings and play counts. Good for casual sessions where the roster shifts.
- Round robin — generates the full schedule up front so everyone plays everyone. Good for fixed rosters and DUPR-rated sessions.
You can switch between approaches mid-session if you need to.

Run the round

Confirm the suggested matches, announce the round (the live display calls out names), then play. When the games finish, enter scores and complete the round. The next round becomes available right after.

Share the live display

Each session has a public scoreboard URL — share it on a TV or tablet at the venue. Players follow along without needing to log in. You can find the link from the dashboard's Display button.

Finish & settle

When the last round is done, complete the session. Check My Organized Sessions for your payout breakdown.
